ACTIVITIES:
Education: Holding a Technician (BTS), BSc or higher degree in geosciences domain in Geosciences based studies, Professional experience: 7 years in operations geology domain with a minimum of 3 years as senior wellsite geologist Behavioural competencies: good interpersonal and communication skills with a sense of team spirit and adaptability to co-ordinate a multicultural and multi-language teams of wellsite and contractors.
Technical competencies: Excellent technical level in geological operations (with emphasis in geosteering,
pressure/temperature, drilling) and knowledge of Petrophysics and reservoir characterization for quick look
interpretation. Necessary HSE trainings (Valid BOSIET / HUET & CA EBS certificates) and valid certifications degree in the supervision of Operations Geology as per company rules.
Softwares: Proficient in MS office. Good knowledge of StarSteer and Gravitas is advantageous.
- At the well site, the Senior WSG is the representative of the Geosciences entity of the affiliate.
- He shall strictly follow the well program as defined in the signed final WSOR and if required, evaluate the needs for a Management of Change.
- In liaison with the Operation Geologist, he takes the decision for geo-steering the well in accordance with objectives defined in WSOR. Assure supervision, coordination and/or realization of all geological surveillance tasks according to write best practices.
- Apply Company standards at all times (PPFG follow up, identification of geohazards, shows and cuttings
- descriptions, Mudlog, Well samples handling and shipping, LWD QA/QC for both real time and memory data, E-logs)
- In agreement with management, and in liaison with other entities concerned, take the decision for geo-
- stopping (i.e. reservoir entry, coring point, sections TD) or for geological circulation when required
- Responsible for the quality of all Geosciences data, ensure application of wellsite standard procedures and
- standing orders for data acquisition
- Guaranty and validate data flow from rig to base. Inform base regularly
- Perform Quick look LWD and Mudlogging interpretation at the wellsite
- Anticipate each well supervision, preparing correlations with reference existing wells around the new well
- Contribute to continuous improvement of the best practices and SOP
- Contribute to Final Well Reports & post-mortem of wells in progress
- Assist with all SUB tasks (well preparation, REX, etc.) through a god integration within SUB team in office
- Attend and animate on-site daily meetings
- Ensure the proper communication between the mud logging/M-LWD/wireline personnel and the drilling crews
- Supervise the reception of personnel and equipment for acquisition service companies
- Play key role in the performance's evaluation of services companies
- Actively drive on-board training of new Well Site Geologists RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to coordinate above activities accordingly to company rules and guidelines.
- Ensure effective communication between all parties involved in the execution of Geological Operations programs at the well site.
- Ensure the Operations Geologist & Company drilling representative is informed of all Geological information pertinent to optimize and safe execution of the drilling program.
- Ensure that all geological operations are carried out in strict respect of the HSE regulations
- Ensure that the operations are performed in accordance with the well objectives as defined during the WSOR process.
- Contributing actively to the well safety through proper implementation of real time detection techniques of drilling hazards.
- Contributing to an accurate and detailed reporting of all matters related to geological operations on the rig site.
- Actively contributing to the pertinence, reliability and quality of the data collected on the rig site.
