Job Description:
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Occupational Safety:
• Manage and direct Lifting Operations to ensure awareness of compliance and risk horizons.
• Continuously evaluate Lifting and Rigging performance data (reports, inspections,
investigations, audits).
• Establish and implement Lifting & Rigging Service Level Agreements.
• Support VP - HSSEQ in developing and negotiating objectives and KPI’s.
• Represent Business Units with major clients on lifting operations.
• Create and establish contractor/vendor management standards and procedures.
• Facilitate investigations into incidents with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Ensure development and implementation of Emergency Management Plans.
• Oversight of implementation of lifting policies and business-specific processes.
Quality and Assurance – Lifting Operations
• Partake in contractor/vendor prequalification.
• Carry out lifting and rigging audits on vendors.
Other
• Provide recommendations on new hires and ensure resources availability.
• Manage subordinate staff, assign work, monitor performance.
• Act as a coach, support training and career development.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Decision Making Authority
• Authority to enact ‘stop work’ when risk of injury, environmental effect, or property damage exists.
• May undertake corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Accountable to line manager to ensure:
· A safe place of work
· Safe systems of work
· Safe plant & equipment
· Provision of information and training
Responsible for:
· Personal and team safety
· Conducting lifting risk assessments
· Ensuring competence of employees and contractors
· Reporting and investigating incidents
· Promoting good behaviours and setting personal example
Managers/Supervisors have authority to stop work when unsafe.
Qualification/Experiences/Skills
Education & Professional Qualification:
- 3-year Full Time Degree in Health and Safety OR equivalent (Graduate Diploma / NEBOSH
/ IOSH).
- Auditor qualification (preferred Lead Audit).
- Root Cause Analysis certification (preferred).
- Training and Assessment qualification Level 4+ (preferred).
Professional Experience:
- 10 - 15 years in Lifting and Rigging, 10 years in heavy industry.
- 8+ years management accountability in Lifting Operations.
- NVQ Level 6 Diploma in Managing Lifting Operations.
- LOLER Lifting Planner.
