Job Title: Construction Electrical & Instrumention Superintendent

Job Description: Position: Construction Electrical and Instrument Superintendent
Work Experience: Min. of 25 years of experience in the E&I field, with at least. 15 years of experience as a Construction E&I Superintendent.
Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or related field desired
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that major focus on safety is maintained in every aspect of construction during the planning and execution phases.
• Staff the construction coordinator with qualified and experienced personnel.
• Review preliminary plans of proposed new additions to ensure they
contain utility easements needed by the Electric Department or additional electrical standards.
• Clearly define the roles of responsibilities for all construction coordinators
in managing the work of construction contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
• Provide input in the development of all construction plans.
• Provide coordination with operations and construction to ensure timely issuance of permits.
• Ensure that field construction is executed as per the approved engineering
drawing and project specification.
• Provide constructability input in the development of construction plans.
• Review contractors’ and subcontractors’ construction schedule and ensure these support the overall project plans and goals.
• Develop clear lines of communication among all construction staff.
• Work closely with the procurement and warehousing staff in developing
efficient materials issuance processes and accountability.
• Oversight of all contractors’ construction-related activities, assuring the
successful completion of the work in accordance with the project schedule
and contract specifications and governing codes.
• Ensure early resolution of any conflicts between the field contractors.
• Monitor contractors’ productivity and make timely decisions to correct any
weak productivity trends.
• Implement each of the mechanical completion protocols, prior to transfer
of facilities to operations.

Knowledge and Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment in

electrical/instrumental construction, repair, and maintenance.

Thorough and working knowledge of National Electrical Code and National

Electrical Safety Code.

Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and proper safety precautions of

the line repairer trade / profession.

Understand and provide oral and written instructions quickly, accurately, and

under adverse conditions. Ability to train employees, if necessary.

Requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with

various levels of management and employees. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Above average spoken English
Above average written English

Computer and Software Skills:

Proficient at using Microsoft Word and Excel
